Concord – Markham Nature Area

1202 La Vista Ave, Concord, CA 94521

This small, tranquil park is nestled amongst the houses  has a small creek running through it, making it a great area for a short walk in the afternoon. There are no bathrooms on site, nor do they have a playground, but the park is more of a space to walk around and enjoy being away from the busy part of the city. The community gardens area was an added touch that made the space more welcoming to the locals and visitors of the park. The other features of the park include a nice creek walkway, other paths throughout the park, and the gazebo in the middle of the large, grassy meadow. Another  but no poison oak found. Most of the plants and trees are labeled and a good diversity of them are from all over the world. There are informative signs in the different areas explaining world location and environment of the plants. It’s a great place for some cool plant photos or just a relaxing walk without worrying about touching poison oak anywhere in the park.
